The well-known Italian card game "Briscola" is played using a deck of forty cards. Each player receives three cards once the deck has been shuffled. The remaining deck is positioned face down, occasionally concealing part of the upturned card, while the following card is placed face up on the playing table. The game's trump suit is represented by this card, the Briscola. A player may withdraw the "briscola" before the game starts if they have the deuce of trump. This move can only be used in first hand or at the start of the game. In a four-player game, team members may expose their cards to one another prior to the first hand being played. Both the transaction and the actual gameplay follow a counterclockwise path.
